AUSTRALIA & NEW ZEALAND BANKING GROUP LI 2000-08-02 ASX-SIGNAL-G HOMEX - Melbourne +++++++++++++++++++++++++ ANZ today announced its inaugural issue of mortgage backed securities collateralised by housing loans owned by the Bank. This issue of A$400 million will comprise both senior and junior notes, expected to be rated AAA and AA- respectively by Standard and Poor's. The securitisation vehicle to be used will be Kingfisher Securitisation Pty Ltd. ANZ Chief Financial Officer, Mr Peter Marriott said the development of a securitisation capability was a significant milestone for ANZ. "Securitisation is viewed as an important funding diversity and capital efficiency tool," Mr Marriott said. Further issues, including accessing offshore markets, are envisaged as part of ANZ's integrated balance sheet management and funding strategy. The transaction will be lead managed by ANZ Investment Bank. Deutsche Bank AG and Macquarie Bank Limited have been appointed co-managers.
