In its annual results announcement made on 25 October 2001, ANZ
announced that the Directors proposed a final dividend of 40 cents per
fully paid ordinary share. 

This dividend, which is 100% franked, has now been declared and will
be payable on 14 December 2001 to holders of fully paid shares
registered in the books of the Company at the close of business on 
8 November 2001.
