In its half-year results announcement on 26 April 2002, ANZ announced
that the Directors proposed an interim dividend of 39 cents be paid
to holders on each ordinary share.

This dividend, which is fully franked, has been declared and will be
payable on 1 July 2002 to holders of fully paid ordinary shares
registered in the books of the Company at the close of business on 23
May 2002.
