Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Limited advises of a minor
amendment to commentary on page 9 of its 2002 Results announcement,
released on 24 October 2002.

THE TEXT READ:

Restructuring expenditure against the provision raised in September
2000 was $37 million in the half and $105 million for the full year
(total spend to date $361 million, ie fully utilised).

THE AMENDED TEXT READS:

Restructuring expenditure against the provision raised in September
2000 was $68 million in the first half and $105 million in the second
half (total spend to date $361 million, ie fully utilised).
