In its annual results announcement on 24 October 2002, ANZ announced
that the Directors proposed a final dividend of 46 cents per fully
paid ordinary share.

This dividend, which is fully franked, has now been declared and will
be payable on 13 December 2002 to holders of fully paid shares
registered in the books of the Company at the close of business on 7
November 2002.
