ANZ today announced the appointment of Mr Michael Dontschuk as Group
Treasurer, effective early May.

Mr Dontschuk joins ANZ from Treasury Corporation of Victoria (TCV),
where he has been CEO for the past three years. Before joining TCV in
1993, Mr Dontschuk worked with Bankers Trust Group in various roles
in both Australia and the UK. He also held roles with National Mutual
and Mercers early in his finance career.

Mr Dontschuk is an Executive Committee Member of the Australian
Financial Markets Association, a member of the Sydney Futures
Exchange Bond Sub-committee and holds Bachelor Degrees in Science and
Mathematics from the University of Tasmania.

In announcing Mr Dontschuk's appointment, ANZ Chief Financial Officer
Mr Peter Marriott said: "We are pleased to announce Mike's
appointment, as he will bring extensive financial skills and treasury
experience to ANZ."

Mr Dontschuk will be based in Melbourne and replace Mr Rick Sawers
who vacated the role of Group Treasurer late last year when he was
appointed Managing Director Global Foreign Exchange."
