AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND BANKING GROUP 2003-03-06 ASX-SIGNAL-G HOMEX - Melbourne +++++++++++++++++++++++++ ANZ today announced that David Boyles, the Group's Chief Operations Officer had given notice of his intention to retire early next year. Mr Boyles joined ANZ from the United States in January 1998 as Chief Information Officer. In his current role he manages ANZ's shared technology, operations and services platforms. After five years at ANZ, Mr Boyles plans to remain in Australia and intends to spend more time with his family while developing his interest in venturing and fostering small technology companies part time. ANZ Chief Executive Officer Mr John McFarlane said: "Given the extended notice, we will take the time to identify a world-class replacement and David will work with us to effect a smooth transition. "In his five years with us, David has been the driving force behind ANZ's eTransformation agenda and has played a pivotal role in our success as a member of the leadership team. "Although there is some time before David leaves us, I would like to extend my gratitude to David for his significant contribution to ANZ," Mr McFarlane said.
