Clearing and Settlement of Cash Equities in Australia

Information Handling Standards

Under the Code of Practice for Clearing and Settlement of Cash Equities in Australia (the Code), ASX has committed to put in place operational standards for the protection of Approved Market Operators (AMOs) and Approved Listing Market Operators (ALMOs) competitively sensitive information acquired by ASX Clear and ASX Settlement in the course of providing the Trade Acceptance Service or the Settlement Facilitation Service.

Following a consultation process undertaken in H1 2014, ASX has formalised its current arrangements for the protection of confidential information, including conflict sensitive information, received from an ALMO by putting in place an Information Handling Procedure for the Settlement Facilitation Service.  The Information Handling Procedure is available here.

ASX has also updated the Information Handling Standard for the protection of confidential information, including conflict sensitive information, received from an AMO in connection with the Trade Acceptance Service.  The Information Handling Standard for the Trade Acceptance Service is available here.
