Welcome to the new-look ASX Investor Update. This e-newsletter includes several enhancements, based on comments in the latest reader survey. We trust you like the changes and, as always, welcome your comments and suggestions via the links at the bottom of the newsletter.
The first noticeable change is the format. Our survey suggested readers were quite happy with the existing format but we felt we could improve on the layout to make it cleaner, more modern and easier to navigate. For example, the newsletter now has a one or two-column format, rather than three columns in some sections of the previous design.
The ASX Investment video has a more prominent position. Featuring market experts, these videos have become one of the newsletter's most popular features. We plan to showcase the latest ASX Investment video and encourage readers to revisit videos on the ASX website.
Another important change is content enhancements in the second half of the newsletter, under Featured Reports. Readers told ASX they wanted more up-to-date market data, so we have included a regular Morningstar report on key index movements and useful asset allocation information. We thank Morningstar for making this report available to ASX Investor Update readers each month.
We are also including a monthly A-VIX report, to help readers better understand market volatility and sentiment. The S&P/ASX 200 VIX (A-VIX) index gauges market sentiment and expected levels of market volatility as shown by prices in the S&P/ASX 200 index options market.
Another enhancement is the Upcoming Listings report, which provides links to companies that have applied for official admission to ASX, and a short description of each. Some readers asked for more information on Initial Public Offerings, so we trust this is a useful addition.
We have other additions planned over the new few months as part of our process to keep improving ASX Investor Update and make it more useful for readers. The new format provides more flexibility to add or subtract content as needed, and in response to reader requests and market trends.
A final enhancement is are the links at the bottom of the newsletter to share information. A series of icons make it much easier to forward the newsletter to a friend, or to link to social media platforms. If you think a friend would like to read ASX Investor Update, do not hesitate to forward it to them.
Redesigning a newsletter that goes to approximately 200,000 readers each month is never easy. Some readers may prefer the old format and the vast majority who completed the survey said they liked the newsletter. With that in mind, we tried to improve the format with subtle changes and content enhancements, rather than reinvent it. We trust you find the changes helpful.
