ASX Australian Real Estate Investment Trusts (A-REITs)
What are A-REITs?
Australian Real Estate Investment Trusts (A-REITs) allow investors to purchase an interest in a diversified and professionally managed portfolio of real estate in the same way as you would purchase share in a company or a unit in a Managed Fund. The real estate portfolio can include commercial, industrial, retail or a mix of real estate assets.
Why trade A-REITs?
A-REITs can provide investors exposure to assets that otherwise would not otherwise be readily accessible. Investors can gain the benefit of any increase in value in the underlying asset and regular rental income generated from the properties owned.

Listed Property Trusts, or REITS as they are now called, have long been a popular choice for investors. Investors have the ability to purchase units in the Trust and subsequently own a share of those property assets. Examples of A-REITS assets include office buildings, industrial parks, residential developments and shopping centres.
