What are Index Futures?

Index Futures are leveraged products that allow you to take a view on the direction of an underlying index, the most popular of which is the S&P/ASX 200 or ASX SPI 200™ Index Futures contract.

Why trade Index Futures?

Index Futures are mainly traded by institutions (fund managers) to protect a domestic equity portfolio from short term market falls, achieve cost-effective exposure to an index whilst purchasing the underlying shares, or to take a trading view on the direction of the market.
