Electricity Authority
The Electricity Authority is an independent Crown entity responsible for the efficient operation of the New Zealand electricity market.

Major Energy Users Group
The members of the Major Electricity Users Group are committed to ensuring the continuing availability of electricity services, at the lowest cost to the economy as a whole, consistent with sustainable development. Within this framework, the Group seeks to ensure competitive electricity prices and security of supply to the members of MEUG.
Commerce Commission
The Commerce Commission enforces legislation that promotes competition in New Zealand markets and prohibits misleading and deceptive conduct by traders. The Commission also enforces a number of pieces of legislation specific to the telecommunications, dairy and electricity industries.
