Ease and flexibility of transaction

Listed Managed Investments are bought and sold in the same way as shares, offering immediate execution of your orders during normal ASX trading hours. You know transaction prices before you buy or sell and can check current prices at any time. You may use limit orders to specify a purchase or sale price for Listed Managed Investments. Should the market price reach your target your order will automatically be executed.

Information availability

A range of information is available to investors in Listed Managed Investments. Prices are published in newspapers and on websites, while news and updates on individual Listed Managed Investments are available on www.asx.com.au and other investment related websites. Product managers may also send regular updates to investors regarding the progress of their investments. Listed Managed Investments are required to announce immediately to the market any event which may have a significant impact on their  investments.

Three day settlement

All transactions conducted through ASX are settled three business days after execution. Proceeds from sales of Listed Managed Investments are available on the third day after the transaction. For purchases, most organisations will require your funds before the transaction can be placed.

Low cost

Listed Managed Investments tend to be low cost investments. ASX's electronic transaction and settlement systems can result in operational and administrative savings which may be passed on to investors. Brokerage fees will generally apply, although the price structure of every institution varies.

Integration with other investments

Because Listed Managed Investments are transacted and settled though ASX they can easily be integrated into a portfolio with other investments. Brokerage and Margin Lending accounts can include Listed Managed Investments in the same way they do shares. Most of the major providers of portfolio services such as Master Trusts and Wrap Accounts can also accommodate Listed Managed Investments.

Security

Listed Managed Investments are subject to the initial and on-going scrutiny of the ASX Listing Rules, while transactions in these securities are subject to ASX Market Rules. In addition, the National Guarantee Fund is available to meet valid claims arising from dealings with stockbrokers under certain circumstances.

Flexibility using derivatives and related securities

Many Listed Managed Investments have related companion securities or derivative products, which can offer investors alternative means of investing, or the ability to adopt more sophisticated strategies such as gearing or hedging.
