Becoming a vendor of ASX market data

Market Information

ASX can provide a real time, low latency market data feed, containing market depth / level 2 information (aggregated depth and full market detail) provided directly by the ASX Integrated Trading System, ITS™.

Customers may choose to access MarketPoint™ either via a direct connection to our trading system or indirectly via an authorised third party vendor.

Direct access to ASX data

Direct access is established by:

ASX’s proprietary CLICK XT™ API interface
ASX MarketPoint FIX™ messaging standard

Customers can choose one of the following two connection methods:

via a dedicated link into the ASX data centre, where a router and gateway must be installed at the customer's premises in Australia to connect to ASX's trading system
via a VPN link into an ASX gateway located at our Sydney data centre

Prior to connecting to ASX's production system, customers must connect to the test system PTE.

Vendors and non-brokers

Vendors will be permissioned by ASX for 'enquiry only', providing access to market information but precluding the entering of orders. Options for connecting to ASX's trading system are outlined above.

Brokers

Broker permissioning will allow access to market information as well as order entry capability.

Brokers will need to execute an ASX ITS Access Agreement governing trading matters, plus a MarketPoint Addendum, should they choose to disseminate market information to their clients.

Indirect access to ASX data

Indirect MarketPoint access is achieved by receiving ASX market information via a third party vendor. The vendors can supply real-time, 20 minute delayed, or end of day data.

Third party vendors can also provide information relating to other exchanges, index providers or other asset classes, in a common format and via a single communication channel.

ASX does not provide a direct datafeed of delayed information, however we can directly supply either real-time or end of day data; delayed datafeeds are offered by information vendors.
