Listing Rules Amendment - change of name of market operator (ASX Limited)

ASX changed its company name from Australian Stock Exchange Limited to ASX Limited on 5 December 2006. Minor amendments to the Listing Rules come into effect on 20 July 2007 to reflect the change of name. The definition of "ASX" in listing rule 19.12 (PDF 309 KB) is changed to mean "ASX Limited", and a new listing rule 19.11C is inserted to deem that as and from the date of the name change all references to "Australian Stock Exchange Limited" in the Listing Rules or communications made by ASX under the Listing Rules are taken to be references to "ASX Limited".

The name "Australian Stock Exchange Limited" has been replaced with "ASX Limited" where the company's name appears in the Appendices 1A, 1B, 1C, 9A, 15A and 15B.

Changes to ASX Online and the Company Announcements Platform

ASX is making two changes to ASX Online and the Company Announcements Platform, following feedback received from its users.

ASX Online
In April 2007, ASX introduced automatic expiry periods for Company PIN numbers and User passwords. The purpose of these changes was to protect both Issuers and ASX in reducing the risk associated with potential fraudulent access to and lodgement of Issuer announcements. These measures were introduced in line with industry best practice and ASX critical system standards.

ASX has received feedback regarding these changes and it is therefore extending the expiry period for Company PIN numbers from 45 days to 90 days. The expiry period for User passwords will remain at 45 days.

This change is scheduled to take effect from 23 July 2007.

Company Announcements Platform
ASX successfully implemented a new Company Announcements Platform on 9 July that provides significant enhancements, including the provision of full colour announcements in searchable text on its public website.

The new system does not attach a copy of the PDF to the confirmation email sent after an announcement is released to the market. ASX has received some feedback from its users regarding the value of this feature and it is therefore enhancing the system to provide this functionality. Please note that only PDF documents with a file size less than 3.5MB can be attached to the confirmation emails.

ASX anticipates that this change will take place in August 2007. A further notice will be sent out advising the exact date when it is finalised.

Formatting Announcements for the ASX Website
ASX now displays company announcements in full colour on our public website. It will also apply a watermark 'For Personal Use Only' to each page of the announcement. A left-hand margin of 2.5 cm for A4 page sizes should be used to prevent the watermark obscuring text or graphic in the announcement.
