ASX and PwC IPO Seminars – July 2007, Sydney & Melbourne
ASX teamed up with PricewaterhouseCoopers to deliver a series of presentations and Q & A forums to private companies who are considering listing.
ASX Institutional Investor Education Series – September 12th 2007, London UK
ASX recently hosted an international event in London targeted to institutional investors which covered two educational streams:
- Cash Equity Market Dynamics – which covered market structure and new equity market initiatives, market access and the new Aqua market.
- Derivatives – This stream covered the trading dynamics and characteristics of the Sydney Futures Exchange, slippage costs and price volatility and liquidity for key SFE contracts.

ASX continues to support the resources sector through its presence & sponsorship of related industry events:

These half day conferences focus on various commodities such as the Nickel & Copper Days held in April and June 2007.

- Diggers & Dealers – August 6th to 8th 2007, Kargoorlie WA
ASX attended the annual Diggers and Dealers conference in Kalgoorlie, a world leading conference that brings together a unique mix of domestic and international delegates from the worlds of mining and financial markets. The conference provides an excellent opportunity for mining companies to engage with providers of capital and to communicate the value of their projects and prospects.
- Excellence in Mining & Exploration – September 9th to 11th, Sydney
ASX was also present at this recent premiere industry event that profiled the exploration and mining industry in an investment context. There were a series of presentations for the mining community in the area of capital raisings, listing issues, infrastructure and on and offshore opportunities which also included for the first time presentations from other exchanges such as the LSE, NSX, and JSE.
ASX investor awareness and education
LMI Investing for Income Roadshow – Oct – Nov 2007, National
ASX in conjunction with the Property Council of Australia is going on the road with senior executives from some of Australi’s leading LPTs including APN Property Group and Centro.
Introduction to ASX CFDs - ASX will soon launch ASX CFDs™ – the first ever CFDs to be traded on ASX.
ASX CFDs will be fundamentally different to other CFD products and a fundamentally better trading alternative for most traders. Free seminars are being conducted in Sydney and Melbourne. For more information and to register visit the ASX website
Instalment Strategies presentations – May – Sept 2007 National
ASX held free investor seminars around the country on the basic mechanics of ASX quoted trading barrier warrants, Dividend Yield Play (DYP), warrants strategies and tax features of using Instalments in a portfolio or SMSF.
Investment Expo - From March 2007 to October 2007 in various locations
The Investment Expo for 2007 has seen ASX deliver free presentations in Sydney, Adelaide & Perth. This is Australia’s largest investment show, where investors can talk face to face with the experts and become better educated in the investment arena. Trading & Investing Expo – July & October 2007
This expo is where investors and traders meet with industry experts including ASX representatives, software developers, brokers and data providers. The Brisbane expo was held in July and the next Sydney expo is on 26th – 27th October. ASX presentations include: share market investing, trading CFDs and quoted instalments.
