Austrade support for Australian businesses

Funds lead IPO growth
With 24 new funds coming to market raising in excess of $2 billion in 2004, the number of Listed Managed Investments (LMIs) for 2005 already looks set to significantly increase. Capital raisings for this year have almost equalled last year's total and 5 new listings are expected in April alone.
New Head of ASX Market Supervision
ASX is pleased that Eric Mayne will join our Market Supervision Division, formerly the Integrity Division, in mid May. Eric will be responsible for the oversight of ASX supervision of the market including; company disclosure, market surveillance, participant compliance and investor protection.
Reporting to the world: Australian adoption of international standards
Major changes are occurring to financial reporting locally with the Australian equivalents to International Financial Reporting Standards (AIFRS) coming into force for accounting periods beginning from 1 January 2005.

  • Company orientation sessions

    ASX runs company orientation sessions for newly listed companies or new staff at existing listed companies. The seminar covers topics such as continuous disclosure and ongoing compliance issues, how announcements are released to the market, price queries and trading halts. Chief Financial Officers, Company Secretaries, legal and investor relations staff and Company Directors are encouraged to attend. These sessions are held regularly in each state, upcoming Perth date is advertised below. Contact your state manager to register your interest.
  • Entrepreneur of the year business breakfast

    ASX is proud to be sponsoring the Entrepreneur Of The Year business breakfast at 7am on 3 May 2005 in Perth. Fiona Stanley, John Rothwell, Len Buckeridge, John Poynton and Jack Bendat will come together to discuss "WA - where to from here" and the discussion will be moderated by Maxine McKew (7.30 Report). Net proceeds from the event will be donated to the Telethon Institute for Child Health Research.
