Launch of new Gold and Metals and Mining indices In August each year, more than 1,600 mining industry and equity markets people from around the globe gather in Kalgoorlie for the Annual Diggers and Dealers conference. 2005/2006 market performance The 2005/2006 financial year has been another record breaking year as ASX market performance indicators reveal. The Australian market has continued to be a strong achiever in comparison to international markets.

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) is the one day of the year that shareholders have the legal right, as owners of a listed company, to quiz the board. In doing so, they pass judgment on how the board has fulfilled its role. Ernst & Young outlines how it sees the issues for the 2006 AGM season. SFE/ASX merger eventuates The merger of ASX and SFE took effect on 25 July, creating a A$5.5 billion company with approximately 25,000 shareholders and a key role enabling and underpinning the national economy. ASX updates ASX is a regular participant in industry conferences, such as the recent Resource industry, LMI and investor conferences outlined below. Industry conferences allow us to meet our customers and their shareholders and learn about the issues impacting them. Also, winners are announced from the ASX Relationship Management Review surveys. Upcoming events IPO Seminars - now expanding to the ACT - 18 October For companies that are thinking of listing on the stock exchange. Excellence in Exploration and Mining Conference - 8-10 October The Australian Stock Exchange is a Platinum Sponsor of this conference which will look at exploration and mining both from an Australian perspective and globally. Strategy Group Mid-Market CEO Symposiums - 25 - 26 October The Australian Stock Exchange will again bring the 'benefits of listing' message to the Mid-Market CEO Symposium in Queensland. 2006 Annual AIRA Conference and Australasian Investor Relations Awards - 23 November This conference will be recognising best practice investor relations across Australian and New Zealand listed companies.
