ASX is currently undertaking an upgrade of the ASX Clear (Futures) system with a planned implementation of May 19th 2014. The current system, SECUR, will be replaced with the contemporary equivalent system – Genium Clearing.
As part of this upgrade, all customer infrastructure and ASX provided applications will be upgraded. The Back Office Server (BOS) component of the Remote Network Gateway (RNG) will be replaced by the Clearing Workstation Server (CWS), the Back Office PC (BOPC) will be replaced by the Clearing Workstation (CW), and OMnet API connectivity will change from the RNG to Central Gateways hosted at ASX data centres.
In addition, Genium Clearing introduces a new API and therefore all customer applications that connect directly to SECUR will need to undergo redevelopment and a qualification process.
Information for Clearing Participants and Non-Clearing Participants
All Clearing Participants (CPs) and Non-Clearing Participants (NCPs) will be affected by the Genium Clearing Upgrade project. CPs/NCPs will be expected to participate in each of the planned test phases: End to End (E2E); Industry Wide Testing (IWT) and the Implementation Rehearsal (see timeline below for dates). An attestation of operational and technical readiness prior to go live is also required.
As the Genium Clearing project is primarily a platform upgrade, the changes in functionality are limited with the main change being the ability for CPs/NCPs to now independently re-instate positions after a Position Net-down via the Clearing Workstation (CW).
The inclusion of Average Price Trade (APT) functionality is also being investigated for a post go-live implementation.
ASX will be facilitating training workshops to familiarise CPs/NCPs with the CW and new and changed functionalities (see timeline below for dates).
A webinar for the CW Training has been produced for your reference.
The IWT Weekly test schedule - referred to in the recent IWT Workshop - and the IWT Daily trade script that will be used, is availale below.
