Role of Advisers
Under the Adviser system, each listed entity is allocated a dedicated ASX Markets Supervision Adviser. The Adviser system has the following benefits:
- The Adviser becomes knowledgeable about that company, developing an understanding of its history and issues relevant to it. This is particularly important in the consideration of potential continuous disclosure issues, but is also relevant in assessing compliance with other Rule requirements.
- A key part of the Adviser’s role is to establish and maintain a good working relationship with the relevant officers of the company. Experience has shown such relationships are critical in ensuring effective communication that facilitates appropriate and speedy outcomes, particularly in relation to disclosure matters that arise in ‘real time’.
