ACH Clearing Rules

Australian Clearing House Pty Limited (“ACH”) is the central counterparty and clearing facility for ASX's market and provides all clearing and counterparty risk management services.  It is the holder of an Australian CS facility licence under the Corporations Act.

ACH has rules known as the ACH Clearing Rules. To protect the integrity of its market, ACH has standards for the behaviour of Clearing Participants through its Clearing Rules.  ASX Compliance Services section makes day-to-day decisions about the application of the ACH Clearing Rules. Guidance notes are also published to assist participants and their advisers to understand how certain Clearing Rules and procedures operate.

The Clearing Rules are not just binding contractually.  They are enforceable against participants under the Corporations Act.  The Clearing Rules create obligations that are additional, and complementary, to common law obligations and statutory obligations.
