MYOB Limited, a leading small business accounting and business
management software developer, today announced the acquisition of
Blue Tongue Technology Pty Ltd, developers of the award-winning
Digi-Till retail point of sale program.

Under a previous agreement, Blue Tongue developed Digi-Till in
conjunction with MYOB Australia which was responsible for
distributing and supporting the product throughout Australia. Earlier
this year, Digi-Till won Channel 9's Small Business Program's award
for best new software.

In announcing the acquisition, General Manager for MYOB Australia,
Rob Evers said the purchase of Blue Tongue enables MYOB Australia to
secure a future in the retail point of sale market.

"We are strengthening the resources needed for on-going product
development, particularly in light of the need for a GST version. The
next release of this product (version 4.0) will not only be GST-ready
but it will also contain a significant number of exciting features
and enhancements that our existing customers and resellers have been
requesting. For resellers, the GST presents an enormous opportunity
to provide retailers with the means to control and manage their
businesses with Digi-Till.

"Owning the program enables us to provide a higher degree of
certainty as we move forward into the retail point of sale software
market both in Australia and overseas. Existing customers can now be
assured of our continued commitment to the retail point of sale
market," Mr Evers said.

As a result of the acquisition, MYOB Australia is now offering a 'GST
free upgrade guarantee' on all purchases of Digi-Till from 11 October
1999. New customers can be assured that they will receive an upgrade
to the GST-ready version 4 when it is released in the first quarter
of next year.
