Classification of Financial Instruments (CFI)

The standard for Classification of Financial Instruments (ISO 10962) was developed to create a consistent and uniform approach to grouping financial instruments.

CFI codes are a 6-digit alpha code that describes a financial instrument. It is comprised of two characters which define the financial instrument category and four characters that identify the attributes in accordance with ISO Standard 10962. The CFI code will be globally assigned concurrently with the ISIN code at the time of issuance of a new financial instrument.

Additional information relating to CFI standard (ISO 10962) is available on the ANNA website.
