Financial Instrument Short Name (FISN)
The standard for the Financial Instrument Short Name (ISO 18774) was developed to provide a consistent and uniform approach to standardise short names and descriptions for financial instruments.
FISN codes have a maximum of 35 alphanumeric characters comprising abbreviations of an issuer name and instrument description in accordance with ISO Standard 18774. The FISN code will be globally assigned concurrently with the ISIN code at the time of issuance of a new financial instrument.
