ANZ today announced the appointment of Ms Carole Anderson as Managing
Director Global Transaction Services reporting to Mr Roger Davis,
Group Managing Director Corporate.

Global Transaction Services is one of ANZ's specialist businesses,
providing a range of trade finance, clearing and international
payments, custody, cash management and transaction services for
corporate and institutional clients.

Ms Anderson joins ANZ from Westpac Banking Corporation where she has
held a number of senior positions including Head of Electronic
Business Services and Head of Product Management, Transactional
Business, Institutional and International Banking.

In 1999, Ms Anderson was seconded to Standard Chartered Bank in
London where she assumed the positions of Senior Manager, Product
Development, Africa, Middle East and Latin America in London, and
more recently as Head of Customer Service, Corporate & Institutional
Banking in Singapore.

Ms Anderson holds a Bachelor of Arts and MBA from Sydney University.

ANZ Group Managing Director Corporate, Mr Roger Davis said Ms
Anderson brought unique skills and experience in domestic and
international transaction banking to ANZ.

"Carole's background will ensure we continue as a leader in providing
Global Transaction Services in Australia, New Zealand and
internationally, and that the business is well positioned to achieve
its strategic objectives, and to perform and grow," Mr Davis said.

Ms Anderson takes up her position on 7 March 2001.
